Easy to make, fun to play with, colorful geometric shapes!
We had a day off from school and work, and wanted to do something simple and relaxed.
we took my son's geometry template and traced the shape on a cardboard (check out things to have at home for start post).
I had some colorful A4 i bought in an art supply store, so we used glue stic and than cut the shapes with scissors.
Here is what we did:
1. First get a geometry template, you can use some old geometric shapes rulers. You can also use something round and small like a jar cover, to make a circle, and something rectangular to draw square, than you can fold the square to make a triangle. You can draw the shapes together and create more complexes shapes like pentagon or hexagon.
2. After you draw the shapes on the card board, glue it on a A4 70 gr. paper.
if you are working with your kids use scissors carefully.
3. Make sure you are using different colors - you can choose one color for all the triangles, a different one for squares and ct.
4. That's it! let it dry a beet and than you can spread the shapes on a large white bristol paper, that should do the job.
Kids love to play on the floor, free, and not sitting on a chair near the table. Let them move around, sit or lay and create figures, new shapes (5 yrs old and up) or sort the shapes by color, shape or size (smaller kids).
Good luck!
