Pine Cone Bird Feeder is the easiest bird feeder you can make with your children!
(That is, of course, besides just placing a plate with seeds and grains for the birds to enjoy, so let's say it is the second easiest bird feeder)
We took one of our pine cones, and filled it with a homemade mixture that birds love:
Next time you have Quinoa leftovers - don't throw it away!
A homemade mixture that birds love:
Cooked Quinoa leftovers (plain Quinoa, not seasoned)
Nuts and Seeds (We save small chunks or powder of walnuts, cashew or peanuts that are left in the containers, for the birds)
Honey
Tie a thick thread onto the pinecone
Fill the pinecone with your homemade mixture. Hang it safely, in a safe place, make sure cats and dogs can't reach it.
For the first few days, it seemed like the birds weren't that interesting in our pine cone bird feeder. It took a few days, but the first brave bird arrived and we welcomed our new friends in the city.
